Cucumber Melon and Lily of the Valley Soap
It’s soap making weekend!! Excited to try these new scents for the summer
It’s been almost a full year since I made some new soap, so I was seriously overdue for some new batches! I love having a whole weekend ahead of me with minimal plans, just open time to dream up my next soaps.
Although these bars only need to cure for four weeks before they can be used, I think they get better with time. As the water in the bars evaporates over time, they get harder and last longer during use.
I like to make a few batches mid-year so that they can cure for a significant amount of time, and be ready for gift giving season around the holidays.
Cucumber Melon
I don’t know about you, but I always get a nostalgic whiff from Cucumber Melon, remembering the famous Bath and Body Works scent. You can’t go wrong with this classic. It’s summery, fresh, and just a little bit sweet.

Lily of the Valley
If you’re looking for a light, floral scent that isn’t too overpowering, Lily of the Valley is for you. It isn’t too sweet either, so would make a good gift for anyone.
For this recipe, I used a bit more olive oil to create a more milky lather. I also decreased the superfat level to 1% in hopes for a faster rinse.
