Classic Modern Blanket

Add this classic, modern blanket to your home!

The neutral color goes well with any interior, and the warm, soft wool is the perfect weight for a movie night or to finish that book you’ve been reading.

I made this blanket for my sister and her husband as a wedding present.


Pattern Details:

Stitch:  Blanket Stitch (easy!)

Yarn:  "Petite Wool" from We Are Knitters.  Pictured is "Ivory" color

Hook size:  size "H" (same as 5mm)

Gauge

·      The pictured blanket is 50" by 66" - perfect for a lap blanket watching TV

·      Starting stitches - 51 groups of 3, or a total of 153 stitches on the starting chain

·      120 rows

·      I used about 17 balls of yarn (3.5oz each)

 

Blanket Stitch instructions: 

1.  Start with a chain in a multiple of 3 stitches

2.  In the third chain from the hook, place two double crochets

3.  Skip two chains, and in the next chain place one single crochet and two double crochets

  •  Repeat step 3 to the end of the row.  

4.  When you have only three chains remaining, you’ll skip two of them, and place one single crochet in the very last chain

To make all subsequent rows ...

 

5.  Chain two, then turn your work

6.  In the very first stitch place two double crochets

7.  Skip the next two stitches, and in the next stitch place one single crochet and two double crochets

8.  Repeat step 7 to the end of the row.  When you get to the end, skip the last two stitches and place one single crochet in the following chain.  Then repeat back to Step 5, and continue on for the rest of the blanket
